Posters

The following is a collection of poster projects that I've created in my time as a designer from client work to personal projects.

U District Streetfair

Celebrating its 50th consecutive year in 2019, the U District StreetFair is the longest running festival of its kind in the nation. The streetfair perfectly reflects the best parts of the community, bringing together friendly faces, diverse cuisines, and local arts and crafts that make for a lively spectacle. With this poster, it was not only my aim to capture the spirit of the fair, but to also represent the vibrant community that hosts it.

The Twilight Zone

Growing up, nothing would give me the chills like an episode of The Twilight Zone. As a homage to Rod Serling and his iconic series, I created this poster which was a part of the Big Scary Poster Show in the Ballard Art Walk.

Pumpkin Chomp & Stomp

The Pumpkin Chomp and Stomp is an October event at Northwest Trek, a Washington wildlife park, where pumpkins are given to the animals. It really doesn’t get more adorable than baby bears and otters rolling around with pumpkins. Instead of using several photographic images of the animals, I created a poster series with each poster featuring an animal from the Pacific Northwest holding pumpkins. The large pumpkins served as a strong central image to draw the eye in. I used texture, layout, and complimentary colors of orange and blue to create a cohesive look between the posters.

Rocky Horror Show

The Rocky Horror Show is a quirky and provocative cult classic with a lot of personality. My goal with this theater poster was to bring out this show's charm in a way that is recognizable to the fan base but also intriguing and original. After doing visual research of prior posters, covers, and artwork, I mood-boarded the tone I wanted to convey and sketched out ideas and layouts. I landed on the imagery of lips, which is commonly recognized imagery for The Rocky Horror Show. To make my design different and stand out, however, I placed all of the content within the mouth and strayed from the classic dripping font you often see by using custom-modified typography for the title. The central focus of the poster pulls the eye in and makes this design stand out.

Slowdive

Slowdive is a 90s shoegaze band from England. With themes of relationships, death, and love, I wanted this gig poster to convey their dreamy sound while touching on themes of longing and being trapped.
